Dimitri Dimakopoulos è un collaboratore di lunga data della casa editrice che in Grecia possedeva la licenza dei periodici Disney.
Ci ha scritto questa mattina nel blog, tra i commenti di questo post che partiva con un “rilancio” della discussione sul Krazy Kat prossimo venturo, per rispondere alle mie domande di stanotte sul suo lavoro da quelle parti, dopo la notizia della chiusura della testata ammiraglia.
Si tratta naturalmente di Miky Maoys (Mickey Mouse, Topolino), al quale con tutta probabilità farà seguito l’intero “parco uscite” della casa editrice Νέα Ακτίνα, in base ai ritmi della specifica periodicità di ciascuna testata.
Tutte queste testate riprendevano in massima parte storie e illustrazioni realizzate da autori italiani (o create da redattori italiani, la cui influenza era palpabile sul mensile Komix, ripreso da Zio Paperone, o sull’attuale Η Μεγάλη Βιβλιοθήκη του Καρλ Μπαρκς, clone de La Grande Dinastia dei Paperi).
La copertina posta in apertura è di Giuseppe Perego, tratta dal terzo numero del pocket uscito in Grecia nel lontano 1966.
Per i non anglofoni tradurrò in seguito (se richiesto dagli spettabili visitors) le sue parole, dopo l’incoramento di una nuova performance di Amy Gordon (sempre legata a un Paese mediterraneo, ma questa volta è la Spagna). E’ la storia di una ballerina di flamenco barcellonese un po’ su de hiros.

So many things happened in only a few weeks, that I am still stunned. About a month ago, I finished the November issue of Komix, in which we were going to print Gagnor and Cavazzano‘s Il surreale viaggio nel destino and I was about to start working on the second volume of our edition of the Fantagraphics Gottfredson library.
Then there were the publisher’s announcements that you know of and, three days ago (last Monday), all the editorial staff got fired (as a freelancer, I didn’t get fired myself…).
Yesterday I was talking to a reporter about Komix etc. and I didn’t really know what to say. I will wait a little bit to see what will happen and then try my luck elsewhere, perhaps in France (my wife has family there).
Anyway, even if, in my opinion, what happened is not a direct result of the crisis, the crisis makes it harder for everybody, the fans, the publisher, the staff.
I was working on a personal project, but that will have to wait. Like that kid from Forest and Tardi‘s Ici-Même, I may have to “start to get along without Mickey“.

To be honest, I don’t know. I haven’t been paid for the last two volumes (17 & 18) I prepared last June and – I think – were to be published in December.
