Cari amici,
questa mattina a Troisdorf, in Germania, si è inaugurata un’importante mostra sul genio di Winsor McCay.
Autore di fumetti leggendari, pioniere del cinema di animazione, visionario sognatore, attraverso le sue molteplici attività artistiche ha illustrato nel modo piu’ originale l’America dei primi del Novecento.
La mosta è stata curata con grande perizia e dedizione da Alexander Braun, che ha curato anche l’edizione e scritto buona parte del ricco
catalogo.
Abbiamo iniziato a collezionare tavole di McCay qualche anno fa e l’emozione che ci regala ogni volta per non ha paragoni.
In mostra è esposta tutta la nostra collezione (dieci tavole) oltre ad altri strabilianti originali, foto, pagine dell’epoca, libri, documenti e film.
Questa mail è per festeggiare insieme a tutti voi, compagni nella stessa follia, per ringraziare Alex, e per rendervi parte di un nostro personale momento di soddisfazione: poter condividere l’arte e le storie, creando occasioni di cultura e conoscenza, per noi rappresenta il senso ultimo di una collezione messa insieme con grande passione.
La mostra dopo Troisdorf va in tour durante il 2012 e sarà anche ad Hannover, Erlangen (per la biennale del fumetto tedesca), Basilea, Backnang, Dortmund (vi segnaleremo il dove e il quando).
Stiamo già lavorando per avere un’ulteriore tappa italiana.

this morning in Troisdorf, Germany, opened an important exhibition on the genius Winsor McCay.
Author of legendary comics, pioneer of the animation picture, visionary dreamer, through his many artistic activities he described America of the early XXth century in the most peculiar way.
The curator of the exhibition, with capability and devotion, was Alexander Braun, who also curated the edition and wrote a great part of the rich catalogue.
We started to collect McCay original art some years ago, and the emotion he gives us every time is unique.
The exhibition gathers our entire collection (ten original artworks) besides others amazing original art, photos, pages of that period, books, documents and movies.
This mail is meant to celebrate with you all, who share our same madness, to thank Alex, to share with you an our personal moment of satisfaction: to share art and stories, to create opportunities of culture and knowledge, is for us the main sense of a collection
gathered with great passion.
After Troisdorf, the exhibition will go on tour in 2012 and will be in Hannover, Erlangen (for the German comics biennal), Basel, Backnang, Dortmund (we will let you know where and when).
We are already working in order to have a further Italian venue.
