Allan (Al) Hubbard nasce in California il 26 marzo 1913.
Dal 4 aprile 1938 al 24 novembre 1941 è animatore ai Walt Disney Studios.
Dal 1944 al 1950 disegna e talvolta sceneggia storie a fumetti per il Sangor Studio (divisione West Coast), pubblicate dalle editrici ACG/CRESTON, BETTER/NEDOR/STANDARD, RURAL HOME, JAY BURTIS e DC/NATIONAL. Per alcuni anni condivide uno studio con Jack Bradbury, Jim Davis e Hubie Karp.
Dal 1950 al 1978 disegna storie a fumetti per l’editrice DELL/WESTERN/GOLD KEY, occupandosi soprattutto delle riduzioni dei lungometraggi animati e di personaggi quali Scamp (Lillo), Bongo and Lumpjaw, O’Malley and the Alley Cats, Mary Jane and Sniffles, Suzanne, Andy Hardy. Il suo tratto “morbido” deve molto a Walt Kelly, suo predecessore nella realizzazione di Peter Wheat.
