FIOCCANO I FALSI

barksduckssssss

Olio Barks cow boy

Check out this very nice artwork, which was in the private collection of a long time comic collector and Carl Barks fan named “DENVER SHERRY” who passed away in 2010.

Many from the Nashville area will know Denver. I believe he was in his early 80s. He used to set up at the Nashville Flea Market with Harry Thomas, and also at the Louisville Flea Market. Denver was your classic old timer, a little crochetty, but with a good sense of humor.
A few weeks ago, he and his wife were rear-ended by a drunk driver in Nashville, and the injuries he sustained eventually took his life. Goodbye, Denver. We will miss you
.

This piece was penciled and inked by the great CARL BARKS! This art is very close but slightly different from the published comic book image in the red link above, featuring Donald Duck getting bucked off his horse as Huey, Dewey and Louie all watch in embarrassment! This artwork is signed TWICE by Carl Barks, first in black ink with a Walt Disney Productions Copyright next to it, and then Carl Barks dedicated it and signed it again in blue ink just above his black inked signature. This art is drawn on 9 by 12 inch Disney art board, as the back of this board is lined Disney art board from the 1970’s. This piece was either an unpublished cover? or a pinup Barks Drew in homage to his old cover…Either way this is a true blue Carl Barks pen and ink that looks virtually identical to one of his published covers!? I’ve personally never EVER seen a Carl Barks black and white cover image…

Normally only painted RECREATIONS are ever offered for sale by this ICONIC Disney artist. This truly is a RARE RARE opportunity to own a great Donald Duck cover image (published or unpublished) by this great Disney artist! Compare this nice art to the published comic book in the red link above! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards “ANY” art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.

$12,000.00

Bugs Bunny a rovescio
